The Immortal Life of Harrietta Lacks
Nowadays, writers believe that honesty is an excellent method to write a book. Rebecca Skloot in her book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks gave us an amazing work making the decision to maintain speech authenticity from the Lacks family.
In many cases writes make the decision to change people’s speech authenticity to make interesting books for the readers and, that is dishonest. However, Rebecca Skloot make the decision to maintain the natives’ speech from Lacks’ family by putting every speech mistake from them in the book. In addition, she explains with specific details all the settings that she went through. For example, when Henrietta was feeling something wrong inside her then she went to the bathroom and slid her finger inside herself to see what happened, and she felt something weird inside and that was the tumor. This is the way how Rebecca Skloot explains to us what happened to her with specific detail how Henrietta Lacks’ cancer process was. Another example that shows us how difficult it was for Rebecca Skloot to understand Henrietta’s daughter Deborah’s language was in the first time that they spoke. Rebecca Skloot was having a conversation with Deborah and she said “how ya doing” (page 15)that is the way how Rebecca Skloot show to us Deborah words written exactly how she spoke.
Most importantly, the thing that we need to notice is that Rebecca Skloot wrote the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks with the intention to make the readers feel what the Lacks family felt at the moment that they knew how their mother’s cell became an important medical research. This is why Rebecca Skloot wrote the page in the beginning of the book about Deborah voice because she put the exactly word that she use to express what she felt about to know how her mother cell helped a lot of people.
In conclusion, the decision of Rebecca Skloot to maintain speech authenticity showed the reader the perspective and the opinion of the characters in the book. If she didn’t decide to maintain the original language, the book would have been different because it would be taking away from their opinion, feeling and the reader could not understand the characters perspective. Changing people’s words is dishonest. If you want to be successful in something you only have to be honest and you will have success life.

Miss Evers' Boys
This movie takes place Tuskegee Hospital in Alabama, from 1932 to 1972.The scientists thought that black and white people were distinct from each other. So to prove this, they started the Tuskegee Study with the purpose of determining if black and white men have the same effects from syphilis. The primary characters of this story are Ms.Evers, Dr.Douglas and Dr.Brodus. At the beginning of the movie Ms. Evers the nurse, and Doctor Brodus brought men to the hospital with the purpose to proving treatment for those who test positive for syphilis but later they could not continue with the treatment because they did not have enough money. The initial plan to provide treatment changed after Dr. Brodus went to Washington, where received an offer from the government to use those man for a study called “the Tuskegee study” and Dr.Brodus accepted hoping that later he will get enough money to continue with his initial goal, the treatment for syphilis. At first, Ms. Evers was not convinced to participate in this study for the most important reason, they would be doing this without patient consent and she have a special relation with one of the men who tested positive for syphilis called, Caleb but later she made the decision to broke up with him and participate in the study. Finally, almost all the men who were part of the study died. The Tuskegee study was declared “outrageous and intolerant” and the survivors finally received a treatment and compensation of money.
I actually found this movie interesting because I start knowing this important theme about involuntary medical experimentation and the movie Ms. Evers’ Boys show us how they do this kind of terrifying thing on human beings. I would suggest this movie to the people who are studying medicine or biologist. I think they will be surprised to know that this cruel thing happens in the world. After seeing this film, I realized how cruel a person can be with human being even thought they could die in the process.

Gattaca
Gattaca is a film about a man called Vincent who was the main character. When he was born, his genetic test showed he has many problems such as: bad eyesight, heart problems and a life expectancy of only 30 years. Vincent never accepted the fact health problems would restrain him from doing many things he wanted. When he was a child, he always competed with his brother Anton. His brother Anton always won because he had a perfect genetic specimen. One day Vincent won and after that day Vincent knew that everything could be possible for him. His dream was to go to space and, to achieve his dream, he got into a company called Gattaca. He assumed an illegal identity with DNA from a man called Jerome Morrow. This man gave him blood and urine samples and an identity which he could use to get into Gattaca. Jerome was paralyzed in a car accident. Vincent and Jerome made a deal to provide him everything he needed to achieve that dream. When Vincent got into Gattaca he met a woman called Irene and they fell in love each other. He knew that he was not the only one who had health problems. Irene also had heart problems .They began a relationship, but later Irene learned that something was wrong and that Vincent was not the person he claimed to be but Vincent explained everything to her and then she understood. In the end, they were fine together. Finally, Vincent could achieve his dream to go to space even though he had a difficult time in Gattaca.
I actually found this movie very interesting and educational because, it shows us the discrimination that the society has with the people who have many health problems. There were many scenes that i really enjoyed like the moment Vincent went to space. I would recommend this movie to the people who think that if they have health problem they cannot achieve their dreams. Vincent is the perfect example that everything in life can be possible.

"How Your Birth Order Influences your Life Adjustment"
The role of the child according to the birth order really affects their life adjustment. According in the article “How your Birth Order Influences your Life Adjustment” Lucille Forer explained that parents normally expect the oldest children to take care of their siblings and that have to be more responsible than the youngest children. In addition, Forer also explained that the youngest children are not concerned because they have their parents and oldest siblings to take care of them. The most significant idea, I found is that the oldest child always has to be more responsible than the youngest child. I agree with the author, the birth order affects in your life adjustment even though in some cases there are some exceptions.
Forer described, that the oldest child always has to think about their siblings. This is the way that almost all the families are. The oldest child is expected to support the family when the parents are not around. For example, what I always see in almost all the families with siblings is that the oldest child has to take the responsibility of the house and to take care of their siblings. This is how your birth older influence in your life.
In contrast, something that Forer didn’t point out is that there are some exceptions respects to the oldest child. Not always they are how the parents expect them to be. For example, in my family, I’m the youngest child and I’m the one who has more responsibility in my house. I have to be aware of everything such as if we have to do the laundry or what we are going to eat for dinner. My mother is not here and someone has to assume the responsibility of the house.
In conclusion, parents always expect that the oldest child has to be more responsible then the youngest child. Although not every family follows Forer idea, as in my case, almost all the families are like Forer explained.
"Hang it up"
Nowadays, cellphones are the main cause of distraction in classrooms. Many students are more interested in texting with their friends than in paying attention to the class. According to the article, ‘Hang it up” Jesse Scaccia explained that one reason for why students more frequently fail is because of cellphones. In addition, Scaccia also explained that parents think, cellphones are a connection with their children in case of emergency. They really don’t know how their children use the cellphones. The most significant idea I found is cellphones in classrooms are a big distraction and at the end this is the big cause of student failure.
Scaccia explained that as a teacher, she believes that cellphones do not belong in classrooms. Cellphones are a cause of distraction. For example something that happened almost every day in a classroom is that a student’s cellphone ring while the teacher is explaining a lesson. This immediately distracts the entire student, because they want to see who cellphones is that or they just simply laugh.
Another reason for why cellphones should not be allowed in classrooms is because students are more concerned about if a friend texts them than to understand what the teacher is explaining. For example, I have a friend of mine who is addicted to the phone. She always wants to be texting even though she is in class. As a result, she fails almost all of her classes. This is an example that cellphones should not be allowed in school.
In addition, something that Scaccia pointed out is that parents give cellphone to their children to make a connection with them. In my opinion, parents have to think more about this because of cellphone children frequently fail classes. This is because they don’t know that their children do things such as: play video game, navigate on Facebook and text with their friends while they are in class.
In conclusion, I believe that cellphones should not be allowed in classrooms. Likewise the author explained cellphones do not belong to classroom, they are the main cause of distraction.
